A comic, ironic, and poetic show about fashion and its close relationship with consumption, social recognition, pollution, health, and working conditions.
ALTA COSTURA (HAUTE COUTURE) portrays the production process of clothing, from the origin of the raw materials used in the manufacture of fabrics to the production of the pieces, their distribution, and the perversity of recycling mechanisms.
The show gives special emphasis to sales mechanisms, the sensorial space of the store, and the contemporary relationship the general public has with the act of buying and throwing away clothes. ALTA COSTURA delves into “fast fashion”: the moment of purchase, the marketing philosophy employed by major brands, and the speed with which products devalue, fall into disuse, and are transformed into abundant and highly polluting waste.
ALTA COSTURA is a visual theater creation. The stage structure, the actresses, the actors, the dancers and the music constitute a living organism in constant movement and transformation that communicates through sounds, objects, colors, shapes, movements, and words.
