Schmetterlinge
SCMETTERLINGE was created based on the novel Os bicos feridos by Anna R. Figueiredo and brought to the stage thanks to an invitation from the Gostner Hoftheater in Nuremberg, Germany.
Olivia was born in Germany to Galician emigrant parents, but she has lived in Galicia since the age of eight, where she grew up and completed her studies in Biology. At 25, she returns to the country where she was born. She works as a cleaner in the home and laboratory of Lisa, a forensic pathologist. One day, Olivia meets Samuel, the son of Emma, an actress and singer who has struggled to establish a solid artistic career.
Samuel takes his own life, and Lisa is the doctor in charge of the autopsy. At that moment, hundreds of orange butterflies emerge from Samuel’s body. Lisa and Olivia try to conceal what happened, but Olivia’s curiosity drives her to investigate the mysterious and incomprehensible event. Emma shares the news of her son’s death on social media, and the videos she posts go viral. As a result, she receives an offer to star in an autobiographical series about her tragedy, which propels her to great success as an actress.
