O Forno

O Forno is a Commedia Dell’Arte musical comedy about contemporary consumer society. O Forno invites us to think about the way we are living in society, about the way we are using our natural resources and the future we offer for the XXI century. We approach the theme through the use of humour, gesture and live music, in a show inspired by the ingenuity of the Commedia Dell´Arte and the Brechtien burlesque.

In the village of Flordelis  all is in harmony. Its inhabitants get together around the oven to kneed and bake a big loaf of bread to be shared by all. But one day Madame Lisette the shopkeeper has the idea of making a loaf just for herself, and with… sugar! From this moment a chain reaction is ignited and the consequences are catastrophically entertaining. But since man does not live on bread alone, love ARRIVES to add a little spice. Avelino falls for Rosa, and the clever Baron tries to get his paws on Madame Lisette. The pleasant days and community living take on another rhythm and the characters become more and more individualistic. Valonian Belgian music accompanies their anxious consumerism, bringing the action to such a rapid pace that there are only two possibilities: stop or explode.
